                <l>To still your fears,</l>
                <l>That it is I that conquer the dark and the lonely night?</l>

                <l>My arms seem to wrap love about you,</l>
                <l>As your little heart fluttering at my breast</l>
                <l>Throbs love through me...</l>
                <lb/>
                <l>But, dear one, it is not your father:</l>
                <l>Other arms are about you, drawing you near,</l>
                <l>And your father near...</l>
                <lb/>
                <l>Some day you shall lie alone at nights,</l>
                <l>As now your father lies:</l>
                <l>And in those arms, as a leaf fallen on a tranquil stream,</l>
                <l>Drift into dreams and healing sleep.</l>
