Primary tabs

Collections

Comprised of digital editions of piratical texts originally published in eighteenth-century Britain, the collection provides access to out-of-print works about or related to maritime piracy. The collection of both fiction and non-fiction is currently in process and includes Daniel Defoe's 1720 novel Captain Singleton. The collection is made possible by http://www.18thconnect.org through its Typewrite and Crowd-Source Correction projects, as well as a John C. Hodges Research Award from English Department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The project image is Sir Henry Morgan by Frederick Hendrik van Hove (Late 17th century. Line engraving. NPG D30701. National Portrait Gallery, London) and is used through Creative Commons Public License.
