December 26 1858 My very dear Dinah

Do not think badly of me for so long delaying to acknowledge your dear kind token of affection, so dear to me because I think you made it and were thinking of your own Auntie many times while the fingers were flying the needles, indeed I truly value it for your dear sake –

How glad you made us all by your good news of dear Ben: present prospect of hope it will prove a good opening for future prosperity. I rejoice too on your account. London is more convenient to you with regard to your publishing and more central to your friends, Liverpool was an awful distance we may now hope to see you and Ben together for he may be able to get a day or two now, the distance so comparatively short, and leave you a little longer, more now, "If the Lord Will," When the days lengthen and when dear Ben has remained long enough to test the value of his talents you may get a holiday together and give us the gratification of having you both here –

We are all I am thankful to say are quite well tho’ though it has been an unhealthy winter this makes us feel the mercy greater than we as a household and family should be exempt.

I repeat I am so glad you are got back to London, I feel so much nearer you, you seemed in the back settlements in Liverpool — I agree with you Ben is far better in his last I only hope to see the improvement

all your aunts send their affectionate love to you and Ben and take as much love as you like to have to yourself my dear Dinah
